Thanksgiving in America

For some it’s a grand affair

But for those who were here first

Thanksgiving day’s a curse

A hollow-day honoring despair

For the Natives of this country

Eat no turkey or cranberry sauce

But the memory of those

Whose bodies decomposed

And one hundred million souls lost

So as we celebrate our good fortune

Please remember how it was obtained

And pray for those souls

Buried… Continue

Food for Thought

This video was sent to me by Living Legacy Member Faith Kinchen. The film documents a brief history of world food production and exposes the disturbing truth behind engineered foods that have quietly filled U.S. grocery store shelves for the past decade. Many of us are so uninformed and put ourselves at risk by being so trusting or just unconcerned about what we consume.

Re-Post "Actual Black History"

When it comes to black history most people don’t even know that our nation’s Capital would not exist were it not for the ingenuity and wit of a black man. Most Americans are aware that it was black labor, blood, sweat and muscle that built the city of Washington DC. They have been told that slave labor laid the foundation stones and that black men lost their lives during the building and construction of, not only the white house, but several of the huge monolithic federal government buildings… Continue

Accidentally posted as an email. My badd! Please, let the dialogue continue.

"Deception is perhaps the oldest of all the techniques by which the weak have protected themselves against the strong. A house divided against itself cannot stand. If a man continues to call a good thing bad, he will eventually lose his sense of moral distinctions. It is not possible to quarantine a certain kind of deception so that it will not affect the rest of one's life? The penalty of deception is to… Continue

Hi everyone

I was very fortunate to be with Elevate The Soul a week ago talking about race, racism, and my forthcoming educational guide Where Does Racism Come From?

Thanks to Emilio, to Ty, and to all of the listeners.

We covered a lot of ground but there was still room for much more and perhaps we will get to pick up the discussion again soon.

First of all I wanted to add some links that cover some of the topics yesterday.

Pop-Pop's Garden is adorable and a great gift

Ever since I saw Lydell's work I have been a fan of his illustrations. I love the bold, vibrant colors and of course we are all blessed to have ALL of his talent here at LivingLegacy.

He has been blessed with great insight on life, family, friendship and God's Word.

I wanted to have a piece of art and my daughter a beautiful book by someone I appreciate and Pop-Pop's Garden is more than a children's book.

I was blessed by everything!

The love… Continue

The Lydell Jackson Tapes

You think you know Lydell Jackson?

I just finished listening to the interview I recorded with Lydell Jackson a couple of weeks back as part of my Important Voices Series. I didn't realize how insightful and content rich the interview was because as the interviewer I had to flow with the action. But having the chance to step back and listen to it almost as an outsider or 3rd party, I can say the content exceeded my expectations. I didn't even want to edit it, so I didn't. I 'm just… Continue
