New Years Resolution?

JP Morgan/Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America may be "too big to fail" -- but they are not too big to feel the impact of hundreds of thousands of people taking action to change a broken financial and political system. Let them gamble with their own money, not yours. Let's turn big banks into smaller banks. We'll all be better off -- and safer -- as a result.

Make it your New Year's resolution to move your money. We can't think of a better… Continue

Economic Underdevelopment

When many of us think about economic development there is a tendency on our part to anticipate structural change in our environment or the potential of additional commerce finding its way into our environment. We entertain the setting of a not so distance place easily accessible by vehicle of private or public supply. Most of us envision opportunities to make purchases or conduct business with more convenience, availability and variety of choice.

Don’t get me wrong, nice restaurants… Continue

Christmas Truth

No matter what our faith or traditions we need to be sure that truth is the basis for our actions. It is difficult to break from traditions that we have made such an important part of who we think we are. However, I am not recommending breaking from or clinging to traditions or our addopted faith. I only say do what you feel good about doing, but do it with knowledge and real understanding. It matters not to me how you celebrate as long as you have… Continue

On February 6, 2007, President Bush and Defense Secretary Robert Gates announced the creation of U.S. Africa Command. The decision was the culmination of a 10-year thought process within the Department of Defense (DoD) acknowledging the emerging strategic importance of Africa, and recognizing that peace and stability on the continent impacts not only Africans, but the interests of the… Continue

Does Everybody Need To Consider?

What is missing most in our society are opportunities for meaningful dialogue. We are distracted by the bombardment of superfluous "news" and what the media machine wants to condition us to that we lose sight of the bills slipping through congress, the disparities, 30,000 plus more American mothers, fathers, daughters and sons risking their lives in combat situations, poverty escalating, housing and financial crisis - you name it. We could stop the madness because the system depends on us… Continue
