Examine this chart very carefully and comment accordingly...

A few years ago my daughter and I were sitting at the dinning table discussing her future and what we discovered spawned a whole new attitude and the chart above. She was just at the beginning of her career path, consequently we decided to put all things in perspective and talk about the possibilities. My background was in corporate communications and visual design so I knew quite a bit about presenting facts and figures in the form of charts and graphs. As we talked I layed out on a napkin the details. The above chart is a refined and simplified version of that table top discussion.

The bottom line is there is a plan for our future that we have all bought into that was established by the system we serve. We all think it's OK until you see the systems plan written out and in a visual format. Let's just say shooting for retirement according to what the system says is not a winning situation, even if you do everything just as the system says. I'm not goin' to say what I think right now about the whole plan but I will say it does not look good to me or my daughter. If you don't make a plan of your own you fall into the system's plan by default. My question to you is what do you think about the chart and what is the solution? I have my answers already...what are yours?

Take a look at the chart above and post your thoughts.

Again...this chart is not about faith or spiritual beliefs. I respect all faiths and consider myself to be a humble and spiritual man. It is about simply thinking about your options in the life that has been granted you. Those options are determined by what is placed before you by the world you have to live in. If we are not satisfied with our lives we don't have to wait to try and change it. The biggest sin is in not doing anything and just waiting for something or someone else to make the difference. Even the bible says "if you know how to do what is good (for yourself and ohters) and don't do it...it is a sin for you"(paraphrased). We know how to do a lot more than we give ourselves credit for. We have simply been programed to think only inside the formula for life feed to us from birth. For me, I'll gladly die working hard trying to make a difference for myself and everyone I know...

I might break in the process...but I will never rust...

I have to agree Lydell. Often times I find people "hiding" behind or should I say beneath "concepts" of God. I personally believe hat we are all people of purpose, power and potential which was given by the Creator. However, it is within our decision making powers that we do or don't maximize those capabilities. As far as our planning our lives, I hold that "without a vision, people perish." I say all the time i people don't have a plan for life, life will have a plan for them. The chart is dead on and needs to be shared.

I agree with you all...that without spiritual hope things look bleak at best. Here is where I differ. I believe that our creator has given us all gifts to share that will make those who are recipients and we ourselves happy in this life and even happier in the life that is to come. The system we live in has drained us and programed us to believe in falsehoods that have robbed us of our since of real joy and happiness as human beings (God's Creation). We should feel obligated to do what we are given strength to do for one another while we wait on our creator to change things for the better. He is looking at us and going "what are you waiting for...I given you what you need...now what are you going to do with it" He will rescue us from our plight just as he has promised. But he has given us much and he expects much more from us than we are doing (with what he has graciously provided)...

So don't just say I'm waiting on God to fix things! He wants you to do your part. That being said...based on the above chart what can you do to make things better right now for you and everyone in your world? Think about it...this is not only a question of faith but one of personal responsibility.

Don't trust the stock market, banks, "Study shows"... I plan to continue serving the Lord, getting to know Him through my daily walk, teach my children of His promises and commandments, Trust in Him with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding... so help me God!
